King Harbor Yacht Club hosts South Bay teams

Through its Youth Foundation, the King Harbor Yacht Club will accommodate the 4 South Bay schools which provide sailing as a club sport or varsity. Redondo Union High School, South (Torrance), Rolling Hills Prep School (San Pedro) and Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach) will launch all their sailing exercises from King Harbor Yacht Club. Redondo Beach’s harbor as well as facilities is ideal for perfectly dealing with sailing.

Heidi Morris is an experienced sailor who made a varsity sailing team for Rolling Hills Prep School previous year, and is famous for working for Skiathos Bareboat Yacht Charter. Cade, her son, is the captain of the team. Heidi told that her father instilled a love of boating in her when she was a young girl. Therefore, she is very thrilled that she could share sailing with her son in this ideal setting.

Abby Featherstone, the sailing coach of King Harbor Youth Foundation, is a renowned and accomplished sailor who is really enthusiastic regarding the forthcoming varsity sailing season. Featherstone said that they have a great combination of experienced student sailors returning and some novice athletes this year. He is expecting great results.

Their first practice session took place on 8th September, at the King Harbor Yacht Club at 3:00. The practice would include the teams from Redondo, South High and Mira Costa. The first meet of the season will take place on 19th Sep, in Newport Beach.
